LeRoy Diggs carries Tigers to North Finals

LeRoy Diggs (CB, Batesville, MS) - South Panola won their 58th consecutive win Friday against Clinton thanks to their star QB, LeRoy Diggs.

"We had to lean on LeRoy with RB Jeramie (Griffin) having the stomach virus and WR Roderick (Jefferson) being suspended," stated head coach Ricky Woods. "LeRoy played his best game of the year. He ran the ball well, passed the ball well, and he conducted the team well," Woods stated to the Clarion Ledger.

Diggs rushed for 135 yards and scored 3 TD's in their 28-14 victory.

"We had to come out and do what we had to do," stated LeRoy Diggs. We got the job done. We try not to let opponents get the lead, but if they do, we just come back and play hard. Now it is time for the rematch against Olive Branch. I know they are really going to pin their ears back for us, but we have a little something for them."

LeRoy has accounted for over 1, 500 yards of offense (1, 003 rushing) and 18 TD's on the season.

Where does the Ole Miss commitment now stand with his recruitment?

"I am still set on Ole Miss. I am not even thinking about anyone else right now. We are all (Jeramie Griffin, Chris Strong, LeRoy Diggs) suppose to go over there to take our visit after our season is over."

Did LeRoy get a chance to watch the Ole Miss/LSU game on TV?

"No, it was not on over here, but I saw some highlights. You see what they are doing with all of those freshmen. When we get over there, we are going to be rolling. That is what has us so excited. Coach O is going to take them to the top, and we want to be a part of that."
