Rebs add Alabama lineman

Justin Sanders (DL, New Market, AL) - The Rebels added some meat to their line of scrimmage when the 6' 4", 280 pound Buckhorn product committed to Coach Ed Orgeron this morning.

"I called Coach Orgeron this morning and told him I wanted to be an Ole Miss Rebel," added Justin Sanders.

Some might have viewed this as somewhat of a surprise due to Sanders just getting back from his official visit at South Carolina this weekend, but Justin has had Ole Miss in the lead ever since he took in his official visit with the University of Mississippi two weekends ago.

"I just liked the small town atmosphere of Oxford better. I am not a big city type of person, just a good ole country boy."

There were a couple more attractions for Justin.

"It seemed like their team was a real close knit team. It seems like their program is building up, and I just want to be a part of it."

Sanders was going to visit Louisville next, but those plans have been canceled.

"I am finished now. I do not think I am going on anymore visits. I am happy with my decision."

In the end, which colleges offered Justin a scholarship?

"Ole Miss, South Carolina, Louisville, USM, and MTSU."

Where did Ole Miss recruit Sanders to play?

"Defensive tackle is where they like me."

Sanders was a three-year starter for Buckhorn HS. As a junior, he helped carry Buckhorn to the state title game, with 122 tackles. They lost to Homewood in the AAAAA finals.

His senior season, Buckhorn jumped to AAAAAA classification and the team registered a 5-5 record. Justin had 93 tackles, 8 QB sacks and 16 tackles for loss.
