What to expect in the early signing period

The Early Signing Period starts today and runs through January 15th. To get a sneak peak at what to expect during this time frame, read below.

Mark Jean-Louis

The Rebels are expected to sign 6' 3", 330 pound OG Mark Jean-Louis tomorrow

"I am going to sign with Ole Miss tomorrow. That is 100%," added Mark Jean-Louis. "I probably will sign with Ole Miss around noon (West Coast time). Coach O wanted me to sign at 7:01 am, but I am not a morning person (laugh). I will sign when ever I get up."

Mark is rated as a 3 star prospect by scout.com and picked Ole Miss over Kentucky.

He will have 3 to play 3.

Jevan Snead

QB Jevan Snead will not sign a national letter of intent but will sign a scholarship with Ole Miss and will enroll in January.

Why will Jevan not sign a national LOI?

Because once a player has signed with a D1 program, they can not sign another LOI unless they go down a notch (juco, D11.etc..) and come back to the D1 level.

Therefore, Jevan will just sign a scholarship with Ole Miss and not a national letter of intent.

Snead was the #6 ranked high school QB last year and was an Army All-American selected. He picked Texas over Florida.

Jevan will have 4 to play 3 at Ole Miss.

LaDerrick Vaughn

S LaDerrick Vaughn is expected to sign in February and enroll in January.

"I am not sure when I will sign for sure. They will set the date up. They told me it would be sometime in February, but I am not sure on the date. The bottom line is that I am enrolling in January and that's all I know for sure," commented LaDerrick Vaughn to us on late Tuesday night.

Vaughn reports that he is currently 6' 2", 203 and is taking 6 hours at S' West CC and also was able to complete 6 hours at Ole Miss last summer before being ruled ineligible that was later reversed by the NCAA clearinghouse.

"I just can't wait to get back down there and finish what I started. It feels good to know I am going to get a chance to get back with all of my boys."

Rated the No. 12 player in Tennessee by SuperPrep, No. 13 by Scout.com and No. 16 by the Knoxville News-Sentinel ... Named to the SuperPrep All-Dixie team ... Also a PrepStar All Region selection ... Rated the No. 76 safety in the nation by Scout.com ... Named All-Metro and Best of the Preps by The Commercial Appeal ... Amassed 1,485 yards rushing and 15 TDs as a senior ... Also played quarterback, passing for over 900 yards as a senior

LaDerrick will have 5 to play 4 for Ole Miss.

Larry Dennis

DL Larry Dennis is expected to sign in the early signing period but will most likely not sign in the next few days.

There are no problems, just a delay in his paperwork.

The 6' 2", 275 pounder from Compton CC is rated as Scout.com's #1 DE in the California juco ranks and is a 4 Star prospect.

Special Note

We are going to wait on the official release from the university instead of speculating when Mark Jean-Louis and Jevan Snead have signed, but we do anticipate them signing tomorrow.
