Vaughn ready to finish what he started

LaDerrick Vaughn (S, Memphis, TN) - It has been a long four months for Manassas' all-time leading scorer, but the wait is finally over.

"I am not sure when I will sign (with Ole Miss) for sure. They will set the date up. They told me it would be sometime in February, but I am not sure on the date. The bottom line is that I am enrolling in January and that's all I know for sure," commented LaDerrick Vaughn to us on late Tuesday night.

How frustrating has it been during the time frame since the NCAA ruled Vaughn ineligible but later reversed their decision after it was too late for him to enroll for the fall semester?

"It has been real tough. I do not want to say anything I should not say, so I will leave it at that."

How good will it feel for Vaughn to rejoin the Ole Miss football team?

"I just can't wait to get back down there and finish what I started. It feels good to know I am going to get a chance to get back with all of my boys."

What has LaDerrick been doing during this semester?

"I have been going to school at S' West CC. I am taking 6 hours to get a couple of classes out of the way. I also took a couple of classes at Ole Miss last summer so I basically have a semester out of the way before I start at Ole Miss. My mom is happy about that. But other than that, I have been working at my job and working out at the gym at night."

What does Vaughn currently weigh?

"I am 6' 2", 203."

When was the last time LaDerrick was in touch with the Ole Miss staff?

"I call Coach Freeze just about every week just to see how he is doing and how the team is doing. He has been telling me to keep my head up and keep my grades up and try to stay in shape."

Which position does Vaughn expect to play at Ole Miss?

"Safety. That is where I was playing last summer during summer conditioning."
