Ole Miss RB recruits receive good ACT news

Ole Miss' future at the running back positions got a big boost when their two commits received their latest ACT results.

"I got my test score back in last week. I went from a 15 to a 17, so now I have plenty of room to qualify. My 15 would have been good enough to qualify, but I did not have any room for error with my GPA. Now I have a lot of wiggle room, although I do not plan on going down with my GPA. I made all A's and B's on my report card," commented Robert Elliott. "I am at aiming at getting my GPA to a 3.0 by the time I graduate. I am right at a 2.6 Core GPA right now."

Robert was one of three running backs that made the 1st Team All-State squad by the Clarion Ledger which includes all classifications in the state of Mississippi. Elliott finished the season with 1, 730 yards and 16 TD's despite playing for an offensive line that lost all of their starters from the prior season.

Another 1st Team All-State selection by the Clarion Ledger also got in his ACT test score last week.

"I made a 17 on it," added Jeramie Griffin. "I think I did pretty good on it considering I did not have any experience with taking the test."

Griffin needs an 18 on the test with his current Core GPA but that will change if his GPA goes up between now and graduation.

"We did not get our report card in from this 9 weeks yet, but I think my score should match my GPA when it comes out. I should be right on the line. I am going to retake the test again in February, and now that I know what the questions are like, I should go way up."

Jeramie helped South Panola to their 4th straight Class 5A State Championship this season. He rushed for 1, 288 yards and 19 Td's while sharing the load with All-State performers LeRoy Diggs and Darrius Barksdale.

Has Griffin given any thought about playing with Robert Elliott?

"I have been keeping up with him. We will make a great 1-2 punch. He is an exciting runner, and I am going to run through you. I look forward to playing with Robert. It should be a lot of fun."

Robert is rated as the #11 tailback in the country while Griffin comes in as the #3 fullback. Both are 4 star recruits by scout.com.
