Ole Miss has the top quarterback in the nation in Eli Manning but a successful program sustains itself over the long haul. The early reports on 2002 signee Ethan Flatt have been positive but a top-notch quarterback needs to be included in nearly every class. Jeremy Young, a 6-foot-2, 190-pounder from Provine High School in Jackson, Mississippi, could be the top quarterback in Mississippi and the Rebels have offered.
"Mississippi State, Auburn, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, and Georgia Tech have all offered me a scholarship," said Young. "Mississippi State is my leader right now but I'm also considering Southern Miss, Auburn, and Ole Miss. I plan to take unofficial visits to Mississippi State and Ole Miss for games this fall."
Young passed for 1,160 yards and 16 touchdowns last season. He also proved to be a threat on the ground with five rushing touchdowns. Defensively, Young also played free-safety in some situations.
Over the summer, Young attended summer football camps at Auburn, Mississippi State, and Jackson State. His brother, Nathaniel Young, is a current member of the Wyoming Cowboys. Young maintains a 3.71 GPA and he scored an 18 on the ACT.
Provine opens their season at home against Murrah High School.
