Keeping the available instate talent home is the goal of every college football program. Especially, the programs located in states with a small population base like the state of Mississippi. One top linebacker prospect has narrowed his choices down to one instate program and one out of state program. Quinton McCrary, a 6-foot-1, 204-pounder from Columbus, likes Ole Miss but which out of state program is also under heavy consideration?
"I like Ole Miss and Florida the most," said McCrary. "Florida competes for national championships and puts players in the pros. I like the new defense and the coaching staff at Ole Miss. It seems like they really care about their players."
McCrary made 171 tackles and eight sacks last season. He also competed on the baseball team at Columbus High School. Football is his game despite his time on the diamond.
"I like the physical contact and covering people," said McCrary.
McCrary plans to take unofficial visits to Mississippi State this fall due to the close proximity of Starkville. Regardless, he plans to wait before reaching his decision.
"I plan to wait until the end of the football season," said McCrary.
