Colby Arceneaux update

John Curtis CHristian HS teammates and friends Colby Arceneaux and Joe McKnight visited Ole Miss over the weekend. Colby called his trip "a blast." Read about it inside.

"I haven't had that much fun in a long time," said Colby Arceneuax, a safety prospect from New Orleans about his official visit to Ole Miss over the weekend. "The whole scene was exciting because everything we did had so much energy. It was electric, man."

The one-on-one meeting with Rebel Coach Ed Orgeron this morning was the capper of a great weekend.

"My meeting with Coach O was awesome. He sends chills down my spine. He's so excited about what is going on at Ole Miss. He knows they are going to build championship teams here and I believe him," Colby continued. "When you talk to someone with that much passion, it has to affect you in a positive way. It was a blast of adrenaline."

Colby was also excited about meeting and hanging out with Ole Miss players, particularly host BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

"Joe and I spent a lot of time with Ben. He's a nice guy. He showed us a lot of stuff and told us everything we need to know about Ole Miss," said the safety prospect, who tips the scales at 181 pounds.

The energy of the people at Ole Miss hit Colby right in the gut.

"Energy is what I am all about too," he said. "That approach to football suits me fine because that's me in a nutshell. I have a great love for this game and like being around others who do."

Colby will visit UL-Lafayette, Nichols State and Northwestern State in the coming weeks and then will make his final decision.
