"I have been gaining a lot of weight lately," added the chuckling Drake Nevis. "Seriously, I have been doing a lot of eating. I have been eating a lot of cheese grits and biscuits. They introduced me to cheese grits on my LSU visit, and I have been stuck on them every since. We have the Cajun food down here, and they have the cheese grits up there."

"I prayed on it
and spoke to the lord. That is what he told me to do basically, so I went with
LSU. Do not get me wrong, Ole Miss is a real great program, but that is what the
lord wanted me to do."
What does LSU provide Drake that Ole Miss does
"Nothing, basically. It was just destiny. It is closer to home
and more convenient. That is some of the reason. I just liked the overall experience.
I basically said a prayer. I told him I would choose where ever he wanted me to
go, and he told me to go to LSU, so I went with LSU. You never go against the

they have not called me since I let them know I was going to LSU. They pretty
much respected what I did. They were very disappointed in me. They wanted me to
help their program out. They wished me luck, and they told me that they had to
spend the rest of their time recruiting players who wanted to be at Ole Miss.

Is Drake getting any phone calls
from competing schools?
"Alabama, but that did not last too long.
They got their assistant to call, but I told him I was committed to LSU and was
done with my recruitment."
Drake is one of five defensive tackles
