Recruiting: OL Marcus Cohen

Offensive lineman Marcus Cohen is what coaches refer to as "the real deal." What is "the real deal?" Well, in this case it's 6-foot-4, 298 pounds of agility and good footwork. Cohen, from Clarksdale, Mississippi, could very well end up being the top offensive lineman in Mississippi by the time his college career is complete. Talent evaluations are inexact at best and Cohen has the tools to move to the top of his class when the evaluations move from potential to actual production.

Cohen has an impressive list of offers and at least three of his favorites are on the list. Regardless, he'll wait before reaching a decision.

"Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Louisiana State, Clemson, Southern Miss, Memphis, and Alabama have all offered me," said Cohen. "I like Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Louisiana State, Florida, and Auburn but I will take my visits before making my decision."

Clarksdale High School won the state championship last season. Cohen likes his contribution to the team and the response it draws from their fans.

"I like being physical," said Cohen. "I like the feeling that football gives me being cheered on Friday nights."

Cohen maintains a 3.0 GPA and he has already scored an 18 on the ACT. Clarksdale opens their season at Jefferson County High School.
