Dion Gales has a happy ending after all

Dion Gales (DL, MS Gulf Coast CC, MS) - Scout.com's #2 nationally ranked junior college prospect was informed last week by Ole Miss that they could no longer sign him due to his grades.

"Coach Campbell called me into his office and told me the news. I was pretty upset, but to be truthful, I was more upset at myself than anybody else. I knew I goofed off in the classroom for too long, and it cost me my scholarship at Ole Miss," said a matter of fact, Dion Gales.

What will Dion do next?

"I took my official visit to Troy State this weekend, and I committed. I like the school. It is close to my home town, so I decided to make a move over there. I just liked everything about it. I had been looking at Troy since my first season here, but I was already committed to Ole Miss. When Ole Miss let me go, I have six of my teammates already going to Troy, so I said lets make it seven. We are taking the show to Troy."

Has Gales heard from anymore schools?

"MSU has sent their coaches down here a couple of times. Coach (Melvin) Smith tried to talk me into coming over there, but I do not want to go to MSU, I want to go to Troy State. USM has called me a few times, but like I said, it is final. I am going to Troy. I am not even taking anymore calls from anymore colleges. Troy State gave me a second opportunity to further my athletic career, and I am sticking with them."
