"Coach Johnson took me, Templeton Hardy, Jermarcus Hardrick, and Tyrus Mack (sophomore outside linebacker) over there this afternoon," added Bruce Wilbourn.
How did the trip go for Bruce and company?
"It was an exciting uptempo practice. I liked the atmosphere of the practice. It was interesting how they did their one on one and seven on seven drills. They really get into it."
Wilbourn was welcomed by the head honcho.
"Coach Orgeron was the first person we saw when we got there. He ran over there to us and said this could be us one day."
This is not Bruce's first trip to Ole Miss.
"I went over there last month with Templeton, our coach, and a few of our teammates. They showed us around their facilities. They say they are the best in the country. That is good for your football program, having those nice training facilities and all."
Where does Ole Miss now stand with Welbourn?
"They are in my top three with Auburn and MSU. Coach Johnson thinks it would be good if me, Templeton and Hardrick stick together. He thinks Ole Miss would be a good choice."
What stands out about Auburn?
They have a good football
program and good coaches."
"I just want to play in the SEC."
Anymore colleges recruiting the All-State performer?
"Tulane, LSU, Houston, Texas Tech, and Alabama."
Any text messages?
"Ole Miss and Tulane text me, but that is it so far."
Welbourn had 997 all-purpose yards and 12 TD's at receiver last season but another position looks to be his most likely destination on the next level.
"Coach tells me they are looking at me more for safety. That is fine with me. I just want to play."
The 5' 11", 185 pounder attended the Army All-American combine with Templeton in January.
