Alabama lineman takes in OM Spring game

John Michael Boswell (OL, NorthPort, AL) - Tuscaloosa County's star offensive tackle took an unofficial visit to Ole Miss for their Spring game this past Saturday.

"My mother, father, and my two grandparents came with me," added the 6' 6", 300 pound John Michael Boswell. "They liked it and so did I. We rode around the campus, and they thought it was really pretty. I thought it was a nice place too."

This was John Michael's first trip to Oxford. What was his first impression?

"I liked it. It was a real nice place. I watched the game and then I spoke to the coaches. I liked their coaches."

Boswell spoke with Coaches Rippon, Orgeron, and Kehoe.

'They said they watched my tape and liked what they saw. Coach Kehoe thought I could play my freshman year if I went there. They have a good offensive line. They did a pretty good job Saturday. I think they are their strong point. But I think I could play there. They said they are losing a lot next year, and they are not real deep. That is what the coaches said."

What impressed Boswell the most during his trip?

"I guess the campus. It was just so scenic, and the coaches really impressed me. They have a lot of energy, and they are real nice people."

John Michael did not have Ole Miss amongst his favorites the last time he was interviewed by, so why visit?

"They were the first ones to offer, and we said all along we would visit, so we decided to for the Spring game."

And where do the Rebels now stand?

"I would say they are one of my Top 5 or 6 schools, for sure. But they are not as high as Florida, Alabama, Auburn, and LSU, but they are in there."
