Rebels add some "pop" to their signing class

The Rebels inked 1B Cliff Vaughn out of Memorial High school in Houston, TX yesterday.

Andrew Clark's dismissal made the signature of Vaughn that much more important.

Cliff stands at 6' 4", 190 and leads the City of Houston in HR's with 10 and is hitting over 400.

Ole Miss beat out Texas Tech, Houston, and Kansas State for his services.

**As reported earlier, the Rebels have invited RHP Jeb Gaultney to walk on next season. Jeb has already been accepted into the University and will enroll this summer.

Jeb stands at 6' 4", 185 and throws it in the 87-98 MPH range. He is also from Houston, TX and preps at Episcopal.

Gaultney turned down a scholarship from UAB to walk on at Ole Miss.

**We reported earlier Ole Miss is still hot and heavey after LHP Matt Tracy.

The St. Louis (MO) resident was offered by Ole Miss yesterday. The Rebs could be fighting an uphill battle as Iowa and Michigan State had more scholarship money to give..

Keep your fingers crossed on this situation, as we reported earlier, Matt went from 6' 1" to 6' 4" in June which caused a growth plate in his back .

This took him out of action during the summer and fall ball. That is the period where the juniors are spotted by the college recruiters.

Matt could be a big time sleeper.

**The Rebels are obviously in need of some more pop in their lineup, so they are eyeing Ft. Smith CC (Arkansas), Michael Hubbard.

Michael is a left handed hitter and stands at 6' 4", 220.

He is currently leading the his division with 15 Hr's, 15 doubles, and 60 RBI's.

Michael is a "draft and follow" prospect as the Marlins selected him last summer.

The Rebels are battling Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Arkansas for his services.

**Ole Miss has now signed two players in the Spring Signing Period.

Cliff joins Yogi Gunther .
