Rebels trying to get in game with TN receiver

Rodriguez Wilks (WR, Syrma, TN) - The State of Tennessee has had its share of receivers in the past few classes and this year is no different. One of the standouts in this class is Rodriguez Wilks.

"I feel like the fade and my hands separate me from most receivers. I also have learned how to become a good route runner, and I have good speed. I just know how to adjust my body. I worked hard in the off season to become a complete receiver. My fade I love. I can jump real high. I have great jumping ability," added Rodriguez Wilks.

Rodriquez used his jumping ability and speed to haul in 57 catches for 934 yards and 16 TD's as a junior. On defense, he collected 58 tackles, 6 interceptions, and he returned 2 punts for TD's.

Which position does Wilks believe his game is best suited for, receiver or defensive back?

"Wide receiver because I feel I need the ball in my hands, so I can make something happen.

What awards did Wilks garner as a junior?

"I was named MVP of the State Championship game. I made All-State, All-Region, and I was a captain for our team."

Who are the colleges involved in Rodriguez's recruitment?

"The SEC. I have Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, Ole Miss, Vandy, Louisville, Kentucky, and FSU is sending me letters."

All offers?

"All of them except I am waiting on FSU and Louisville."

Any coaches attend Wilks' spring practices?

"Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss, and South Carolina. They have been by my practices this Spring?

Who are the colleges that are at the top of Wilks' list?

"The main ones are Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, Michigan, Kentucky, and Alabama."

What stands out about each of Wilks' favorites?

"Tennessee has come on strong. They throw the ball. They have the ability to do it all. The Gators are the same thing. I love their style. They play like a team. That is what I love about Florida. When I take my five visits, I will see what it is like in person, not what they talk about. They all tell you that their school is the best, but that is just all of that recruiting talk. My eyes are wide open. I will not know anything until I take my visits."

What will Wilks look at when he takes those visits?

"I want to see what the relationship is between the players and coaches. When I get on my visits, I am going to get the low down on what they think about their coaches. All of the coaches tell you what you want to hear, so I want to hear it straight from the horse's mouth."
