Midland 100 member still solid with Ole Miss

Rashad Fields (S, Caruthersville, MO) - The 6' 2", 197 pound (measured at Ole Miss camp) safety had a chance to take in his third unofficial visit in the past five months.

"I went down to Ole Miss' camp," added the Missouri's 2006 All-Standard Democrat Football Dream Team, Rashad Fields. "It was just a great experience. There was a lot of competition. That is what everybody kept saying there; that Ole Miss had more good players at the camp than the other camps everybody had gone to. I think their staff is getting the word that they will work you hard and more importantly, show you what you are doing wrong and correcting your mistakes. I mean, I knew how hard they were on their players by going to their Spring game, but it was more than I expected. But I hung in there (laugh)."

Who was the best wide receiver Fields went up against?

"The best was probably Wes Kemp (recently committed to Wisconsin). The fastest was Horatio Williams. The guy they signed (committed) right after the camp. He was real fast. That cat was fast, real fast.. He ran like a 4.32 forty right in front of me."

What new did Rashad learn about the Ole Miss staff during the visit?

"The coaches coach you like you are already apart of their team. That is what I liked the most. I had a good one on one with the coaches. They taught me a lot, like how to come out of my breaks better and a little faster. They also taught us how to communicate better."

Anything new that was learned about Ole Miss, the school, during the trip?

"They did not say too much. They just basically welcomed me back. They told me to keep working hard, get stronger and get more muscular, but at the same time I needed to keep my speed."

What did Rashad run in the 40 at the Ole Miss camp?

"I ran a 4.56 and a 4.58."

Does Fields still feel solid with his commitment?

"Yes, I love Ole Miss. I am definitely going there. There is nothing changing my mind."
