Jackson feels good about OM camp performance

Thomas Jackson (WR, Geismar, LA) - One of the Bayou's true sleepers preps for Dutchtown High.

"I did not get many balls thrown my way because we had two of the best backs in the state in Kelvin York, and Eddie Lacy. We really did not pass the ball too much until they stopped the run in the playoffs and then it was too late,"added Thomas Jackson.

The limited touches resulted in only 8 catches for 110 yards and 2 TD's, so Jackson has been busy this Summer showcasing his talents.

"I have been to Ole Miss, La Tech, Tulane, TCU, Oklahoma State, and Mississippi State so far. I am probably going to Southern Mississippi next."

Jackson turned in a poor 4.75 forty time at the Scout.com combine in New Orleans but improved on that time to a 4.56 at Ole Miss.

"That was by far my best camp. In New Orleans, I slipped on my take off, and I never got loosened up before I ran. I had never run on that turf either. I did not have the proper shoes on. It was just a bad day for me, but I think I had my best showing at Ole Miss. I ran a lot better."

Did Ole Miss notice?

"Coach Orgeron pulled me and my father over after the camp let out. He told me that I was a good receiver with great hands, and that I need to work on my speed a little."

What did Mississippi State say to Jackson?

"Basically the same things as Ole Miss. They just told me to keep going to more camps, as many as I can."

And Tulane?

"They did not say much. They were more like thanks for coming over, and we hope to see you next year. It was more that kind of stuff, nothing personal."

Thomas had a unique experience at Oklahoma State.

"They had a bunch of staffs over at their camp. I actually spoke to the ULM coaches at Oklahoma State. He told me to come back for a visit in the Fall. Oklahoma State really liked me. They also came to my Spring game. I have been talking to their wide receiver coach a lot."
