Top seniors at Ole Miss Elite camp

The Rebels hosted 45 basketball players at their invite only Elite camp on Friday and Saturday. To find out which rising seniors stood out, read below.

Senior Prospects

Terrance Henry

Terrance Henry (Wing, Monroe, LA) - Terrance attends Carroll High, the same school that recent commit, Brandon Wilson, transferred to this summer.

Henry is rated as one of the top 50 rising senior prospects by several recruiting services. He is extremely talented with his size and length at the wing position.

Henry is very quick and explosive. His weakness is obviously his size (6' 9", 180) but tell that to Tayshaun Prince.

Ole Miss, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Baylor, and Arkansas have all offered.

Malcolm White

Malcolm White (PF, Genesis One, MS) - All eyes were focused on Ole Miss' highest rated commitment since Justin Reed.

White did not disappoint. He is every bit of 6' 9", 210 and is extremely athletic.

Malcolm is very active, physical and plays long. He needs to improve with his back to the basket on the offensive end, but he will make an immediate impact in the Rebel's program.

We now see why programs like Kentucky, OM, MSU, Miami UNLV, Oklahoma, Southern Cal, Arkansas, LSU, Alabama, and Oklahoma State all offered.

Terrico White
Terrico White (SG, Memphis, TN) - We have not seen a prospect enter the Ole Miss program with Terrico's shooting mechanics since Keith Carter.

The 6' 5", 195 pound shooting guard is silky smooth but is just as athletic as he is fundamentally sound. White was ripping the rim down with both hands.

He was easily the best shooter at the camp, and is a very good shooter off of the catch or bounce. Terrico needs to understand how good he can be and play hard at all times. But Terrico is so underrated. He plays for an AAU team (Spurs) that does not get much exposure.

Right now, Ole Miss is the only school who has offered but Missouri, Tennessee, and Clemson are showing heavy interest.

Brandon Wilson
Brandon Wilson (Wing, Monroe, LA) - Brandon caught the eye of Chuck and myself right off of the bat at the Elite 11 camp.

The 6' 5", 180 pound wing prospect is extremely long, as long as someone who stands 7 foot tall. Brandon is a great ball handler for a wing, and he is extremely quick and explosive. He was tearing down the rim all day and takes it up with authority. Wilson kind of reminds me of a Jason Smith but possesses a better shot.

He does need to become a more consistent shooter, but he has a chance to be a special player for the University of Mississippi if he continues to follow down the path he is on.

Brandon attended Rayville last season but will transfer to Carroll (LA) next Fall with another key Ole Miss recruit for the '09 class, SF Terrance Henry.

Martino Brock
Martino Brock (Wing, Memphis, TN) - The 6' 4", 170 pound wing prospect from Ridgeway played as hard as anybody at the camp.

Bock is extremely quick and fast. He needs to become a better shooter, but he can certainly play on the next level.

Martino is being recruited by a bunch of mid-majors. The Rebels and Vols are also giving Brock a serious look.

Jason Jones (Wing, Memphis, TN) - The other Ridgeway prospect that stood out at the camp is Jason Jones.

He is a little bigger (6' 5", 185) than his teammate, Martino Brock.

Jason has a great feel on how to play the game and is a great character kid. He is a good athlete but needs to become a more consistent shooter. Right now, Jones is a very streaker shooter. When he rectifies that issue, he has a chance to be a high D1 prospect.

Right now, Jones is being recruited by Missouri, Tennessee, Ole Miss and a bunch of mid-major programs. No offers to this point.

Ole Miss tried to cut down on the numbers this year for their Elite camp. They did that successfully by only bringing in 45 players instead of the normal 60 to 70 players we have seen in the past decade for the invite only camp.

All in all, out of the 45 players in attendance, 15 of them have been offered or will be offered. Another 5 to 10 will be watched very closely from here on out.

In the 8 years I have been in this business, they have not come anywhere near bringing in 15 offer guys. There are usually 3 to 5 players that attend the camp who have been offered. That shows you how far this staff has come in such a short amount of time.

Elite Camp Tidbits

In our next camp report, we will go over the top rising juniors who were in attendance

Signee Tidbits

We spotted SG Trevor Gaskins, PF Kevin Cantinol, PG Christopher Warren, 3G Wesley Jones, and 3G Zach Graham watching the camp from the sidelines.

Early word has Trevor Gaskins being the steal of the class and has a chance to make the quickest impact. Stay tuned as we will have much more on all of the signees this summer.
