Rebs make the cut for Kentucky TE

Ryan Wallace (TE, Bowling Green, KY) -'s #26 nationally rated tight end has been a busy man this summer.

"I have been to a bunch of camps," added Ryan Wallace. "I went to Ole Miss', Oklahoma State's, well, I visited out there and went to one session of camp. We then flew to Louisville and drove over to South Carolina after that. We went to Tennessee and then headed to Kentucky on Friday. All of the camps fell in the same time frame. But by the end of the deal, I was dead and glad to get back home."

Wallace already held offers from Stanford, Purdue, Ole Miss, Cinci, and Oklahoma State before his summer tour.

Did any new offers come his way after the camps were over?

"Kentucky offered me shortly after their camp. That was good. It moved them up my list."

It looks like that list has been narrowed down to four schools, but that could grow to five.

"I want to commit in a couple of weeks. I have it down to Cinci, Stanford, Kentucky, and Ole Miss. I might consider Georgia Tech in that bunch if they offer me after their camp."

What are Wallace's impression of the Rebels?

"I believe Ole Miss is where I had my best camp. I ran my best 40 time (4.78) and I did good in the 1 on 1's and 7 on 7's. I have been over there a few times now. I went to their Spring game. I did not spend much time with Coach Freeze because he was with the receivers, but Coach Hughes is a lot like our TE coach. He is not going to go off on you. He will be silent, but at the same time, he will correct you on what you did wrong. I just like all of the enthusiasm that their coaches have down there. They are a lot of fun to be around."

Kentucky has also made a strong move as of late.

"It has always been close to home, and I know a lot of people over there. Their staff has really been recruiting me hard lately, and they have a good academic support group. Their team is also on the rise. That would be a good situation for me."

Stanford offers a chance to earn that "Stanford" degree.

"You can pretty much choose where you want to go after you get out of college at Stanford."

Cincinnati has one thing that stands out.

"It is so close to home. My father could drive over to see me play. He is our coach over here (at Bowling Green) so that would give him a chance to see me play on Saturday's if I go there."

Does Ryan feel like a decision will be made by the end of the month.

"Definitely, probably in the next week to two. I am ready to get this over with."

Ryan had 22 catches for 325 yards as a junior
