Rebs have some catching up with Memphis LB

Marlon Walls (LB, Memphis, TN) - Scout.com's #11 nationally ranked strong side linebacker has taken in two SEC camps recently and is headed to another SEC camp on Saturday.

"I went over to Alabama and Auburn, and I am going to Florida on July 21st and Tennessee the first weekend in August. That will pretty much be it for me this summer," added Marlon Walls.

How did the Alabama camp go?

"It was OK. I did not get as much attention as I thought I should or have liked, but I was blessed to be with my teammates."

Marlon believes his team at Wooddale is now coming together.

"Our offense is really starting to gel. We had to replace a lot of key people on offense. Our defense is bringing back just about everyone. We should be able to carry the offense until they get it going."

What has Walls been doing this summer to keep himself in shape?

"I have mostly been doing two a days. I lift in the morning and I run in the middle of the day so I can sweat it all out. I have been staying in good shape. I have actually lost a few pounds because of track. I am down to 215."

What does Marlon's offer list now look like?

"I have offers from Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Louisville, Arkansas, and Memphis."

Which schools stand out?

"Right now, it is like Florida and Tennessee. I am going back and forth right now, but I am stuck on those two."

What are Florida's positives?

"Mostly Coaches Meyer and Strong. We talk a whole lot. They have a lot of good things going on at Florida. You have to respect them winning a national championship. I have a lot of love for Florida."

And Tennessee?

"I grew up watching Tennessee football. They were my dream team to play for. Trooper Taylor and Coach Fulmer and I are real tight. Those are my boys."

What is the next batch of schools on Marlon's mind?

"I have to go with Louisville. Coach Broom makes sure I keep Louisville on my mind. And I like Auburn. They are all about winning up there. And my dad wants me to go to Ole Miss, but they have not been talking to me as much. They are probably right after Louisville and Auburn, but I am not sure what is going on. They just are not on me as hard as they were at the start (of the recruiting process)."
