OM juco commit started to get some looks

Daniel Thomas (Ath/S, N' West CC, MS) - The 6' 2", 225 pound juco star started off his season with a bang on Thursday.

"I had a pretty good game. We won 31- 0," added the 6' 2", 225 pound Daniel Thomas. "I threw a TD and rushed for two more. This year, I am little faster and stronger. It is pretty hard for one defender to bring me down. I could have had more yards, but I slipped when I could have gone for 70. We will learn more about ourselves when we go down to Jones CC next week."

Daniel finished the game with 8 carries for 66 yards and he also completed both of his passes for 79 yards and a TD. He played every series but two at running back. In those two series, he played QB, the position he played as a freshman. Thomas did not get in any snaps at safety, the position Ole Miss is recruiting him to play and does not expect to play much defense this season.

"They want to focus me on offense. They do not want to tire me out too much, but I would not mind playing some defense. I know that is where I am probably going to play at Ole Miss. I do have some schools who are looking at me at running back too."

Which schools?

"Florida State and UAB have been calling lately."

What are they saying?

"UAB wants to recruit me as a running back. They want to me come in for an official visit. FSU said they are going to come down to my game when we play Gulf Coast CC. They are looking at me for running back too."

Where does Thomas prefer to play?

"It does not matter to me. I just want to be out on the field making an impact."

Is Daniel still solid with his commitment with Ole Miss?

"Yea, I am pretty solid, but I want to take those five visits to make sure that is where I want to go."

Is Thomas still on track to get out in December?

"Yes, I should be good to go."
