Kendrick Presley takes in Ole Miss game

Kendrick Presley (Ath, Kosciusko, MS) - When the Clarion Ledger released their Dandy Dozen, there was one name missing that most recruiting experts predicted would be included.

"I really did not think anything about that poll," added Kendrick Presley. "I am just out here to win games. My ability will take care of itself, as far as recruiting goes. It really did not bother me at all."

If it is any consolation prize, the Clarion Ledger did release that "KP" was next in line to be included for the team, but Presley has decided to let his play do the talking.

"We beat N' West Rankin 40 - 17 in our first game. I had a pretty good game. I ran for 175 yards and passed for 105 yards and scored 4 TD's. Against Houston last Friday, we beat them pretty good, 64-0. I only played for a quarter and a couple of drives because we got up so early. I think I had around 250 yards of offense."

What has made Presley a better player this year?

"I feel like I have gotten stronger and faster. I have more experience and know the game real well."

Presley was getting some looks this summer at receiver during the 7 on 7 tournaments. Has he received any snaps outside of QB this season?

"No, not yet. I think they are going to put me in at some DB against Louisville Friday. They have the real deal down there playing QB for them."

Clayton Moore for Louisville is one of the state's top QB's.

"I watched some of his film today. He is pretty good to be just a junior. He just throws the ball so well."

What else stands out about Louisville?

"They are pretty gritty and fast, especially Dennis Thames. He can fly. I think it is going to be a pretty tough game. We are going at it hard in practice this week, just trying to get as prepared as we can possibly be."

Kendrick had a chance to take in the Ole Miss/Missouri game Saturday.

"I enjoyed it. They played good, especially the second half. Their running back had a good game too."

Was this Presley's first Ole Miss game to attend?

"No, I have been over there a few times before to see them play. But this was the first time for me to just really watch them play. Last year, I just did not study them. I was playing around. But after watching them play Saturday, I was impressed with how they did not give up, and I like how into the game their coaches get. They stay fired up the whole game."

Kendrick got a chance to talk to the coach who is recruiting him for Ole Miss while at the game.

"I spoke to Coach Hughes right after their game. He asked how I was doing and how my parents were doing. He said he was really glad that I came down to the game and he could not wait for me to be a Rebel."

Anymore games on tap?

"I do not have any scheduled, but I will be going to some."

Any phone calls since the calling period started?

"Yes sir, the same schools, Alabama, Ole Miss, MSU, USM, Colorado, Iowa State, you know, just the same schools."
