Juco CB still solid with Ole Miss
"I went over there yesterday with Alonzo (Horton) and Trahan (Patrick)," commented Demareo Marr. "It went good. I have been down there several times before. It just feels like I am at home. We went and watched practice, broke some things down in the film room. I talked to all of the coaches and some of the players. They all knew who I was. It just made me feel at home."
Although Demareo committed to the Rebels early on in the recruiting process, other schools are still applying the pressure.
"Coach (Derek) Jones from Memphis told me that no matter what, if I am committed or not, that he was going to keep recruiting me until I sign my name. He said all he wants for Christmas is for me to be a Memphis Tiger. UAB also offered me. They want me to come in for an official visit. Kansas State and West Virginia have started calling and sending me a lot of hand written letters. They are all telling me that they are going to keep recruiting me no matter if I am committed or not."
Does the 6' 2", 180 pound cornerback still feel solid with his decision?
"Nothing has changed for me. The SEC, it does not get any better than that."
Marr took a couple of his teammates with him to Ole Miss on Thursday; did Demareo do a little in-house recruiting himself?
"You know I did. I have been working on them ever since they got here. They are both such good players. I feel more comfortable when they are in the game with me. They get so much pressure on the QB; it makes my job easy. We have all kind of bonded this year. I think it looks good."
How has Marr fared on the field this season?
"We have been doing good. They never throw it my way, but I have been doing good. I guess that is a sign of respect that they never come my way."
How does Demareo feel like he is a better player this year than last?
"I feel like I am a whole lot smarter. I just know the game a lot better. Down and distance, their stance, just a lot of the little things that I did not know about last year. I feel like I am a much better player this year."
Marr will be in Oxford on Saturday to see the Rebels play the Gators.
