Grant Valentine looks forward to OM visit

Grant Valentine (DE, Glendale College, CA) - The 6' 3", 240 pound defensive end has had a solid start to his season.

"It has been going good. I have 52 tackles, 7 sacks, 16 QB hurries, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 recovered fumble on the season so far," stated Grant Valentine. "I am just trying to stay focused on school and playing football. I got Player of the Week twice for the Western State Conference. I guess that is pretty good."

Glendale College has also had a nice start to their season.

"We just beat Moore Park on Saturday. We are now 4-1. We have a bye this weekend, and we play College of the Canyons next. That is going to be a huge game."

One of the games that Valentine was named Player of the Week was against Sanna Anna College.

"So far, that was my best game. We played them in the second week, and I had 13 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 4 QB hurries."

Grant is going to use the bye this weekend to take in an official visit to the University of Mississippi.

"I am going to Ole Miss this weekend. Washington just started calling me and Tennessee called me the other day and asked for my highlight tape. I am going to send it out to them and see how they like it."

What will Valentine key in on while he is on his trip to Oxford?

"This will be my first official visit. I just want to see how the area is and see their campus. I want to look at their defensive system too. But really, I have never even been to Mississippi so I want to see how the environment is first."

What got Grant interested in Ole Miss?

"I like that they are an up and coming team, and I know I can play automatically if I go there. They need somebody to step up at end next season, and they want me to be that guy."

Anymore trips on the horizon for this 4 Star DE?

"No, but I will probably visit Oregon State and Washington, and I will see from there."
