Magnolia lineman still has two at the top

Michael Lacy (OT, Gulfport, MS) - The 6' 5", 325 pounder's high school team has had a rough start to their season but that has not stopped Michael from still believing that they can do big things.

"We did not start off really strong," added Michael Lacy. "We started off 0-4, but we are about to start working hard and come up with a win this week and win out from here. The young guys are getting some experience so it is just a matter of time before we start clicking."

Michael has been pleased with his personal play, for the most part.

"In our first game, I did not do too well. In our second game, I had 8 pancakes. In our third game, I had 7 pancakes, and then last game I had 10 pancakes. It was my best game of the year. I have got to learn the new offense better, and I need to start becoming a better leader. But my run blocking is better than ever. I am dominating the LB's and DT's. And in my pass blocking, only one person has gotten by me this year. I am going to stop my man 9 times out of 10. I make sure to get that block."

Which colleges are staying in phone contact?

"Ole Miss, Auburn, and Southern Mississippi."

Any new offers?

"USM offered me earlier this month. Still Ole Miss, Auburn, Marshall, and USM, as far as my offers. Those are the main four that I am looking at and that are looking at me. I am getting ready for the ACT test. I am going to the learning center every morning before school starts to help me get prepared. I pretty much have all of my core classes out of the way. I just need a 20 on the ACT."

Does Lacy have a leader yet?

"Still Auburn and Ole Miss. Coach Orgeron has a lot of energy, and I like Coach Kehoe, their OL coach. The way they played Florida impressed me. I liked the energy they had. I plan on going up there on October 20th for the Arkansas game. My dad is planning out my visits. He is also taking me to Auburn for a game of theirs."

What is standing out about the Tigers right now?

"I love Auburn. It is a good school. I like their energy. I watched them play Florida on tv. I like Auburn because they have energy and good defensive linemen. I also like Coach Dunn a lot. He calls me at least twice a week. Coach Dunn is constantly checking on me, telling me how badly Auburn needs me. I just have to see. Auburn and Ole Miss are good schools."

What about USM?

"Coach Rodriquez calls me every Monday. He tells me that it is close to home, only 40 minutes away. That is why I like USM. I have been watching them on TV a lot too. They need some help on the OL. I could probably start from day one if I go there."
