The Rebels continue to hit well, pitch well, and play good defense.
"I thought today (Sunday) that all the guys pitched fairly well," Bianco said. "There are two sides to it. A lot of times if the pitchers did well that means the offense didn't do well or vice versa. But we're seeing a lot of good hitting and pitching."
Bianco talked a little more about some of the pitchers Sunday.
"(Drew) Pomeranz threw hard but just fell behind in some counts. The hitters made him pay for it. I thought (Nathan) Baker pitched well with good velocity. Didn't walk people but when he did fall behind they made him pay for it. It was good to see Matt Tracy pitch well today. He didn't give up a run until the last inning. He was pretty sharp today. I thought (Jake) Morgan was pretty sharp today. We're running a lot of arms out there."
Hitting didn't suffer however, and the Rebels continue to hit the long ball.
"Four home runs today so we're still hitting it well. But we also struck out 23 guys today in 18 innings (both teams combined) and we only walked two. This will probably be the only fall since I've been where we'll have 3-to-1 strikeouts to walks."
Bianco continues to feel good about his troops with two weekends remaining.
"We would like it if certain days some of the pitchers would make it a little easier and cruise," he said. "But you have to look at the big picture, and we like what we see."
Cody Satterwhite pitched a bullpen today for the first time this fall.
"It was his first time (this fall) off the mound at 60 feet," Bianco said. "We didn't stop him because he was hurt. We stopped him to rest him. He's like you would expect. He feels fine. He'll throw another bullpen this midweek and another next week."
Bianco said Lance Lynn had minor surgery this past week to repair a muscle in his groin area. He should be fine in four to six weeks. It had been bothering him for several months.
"It was torn and that was why it wasn't healing," Bianco said. "So they had to fix it."
