Rebs land coveted juco pitcher
"I committed to Ole Miss," added the hard throwing 6' 2", 165 pound Chris Corrigan. "I took visits to Arizona, Arkansas, Southern Cal, and Ole Miss. I just liked the small town atmosphere of Oxford."
The Rebel baseball program also played a role.
"They have a great baseball program. They seem to be in the Super Regional quite a bit. The scenery is nice in that area. They also have nice facilities. They are great. Adding on to that stadium is going to be really nice to play in."
Who came in second for Chris' services.
"It had to have been Arizona State because they have a really good baseball program too. I liked my official visit to Arizona, and my dad said that both of the cities are real similar and both have real similar climates. I kind of based my decision with Arizona State with my visit to Arizona."
When does Corrigan plan to sign with Ole Miss?
Now that the recruiting aspect is over; how is Fall ball going?
"It is going good. I have pitched really good. I am locating my pitches really well right now. I pitched five times and only had one bad outing. I gave up 4 runs in five appearances, and I am throwing it consistently in the 93 MPH range. My arm feels great."
Surprisingly, stats are not a goal of Chris' this season.
"My only goal is to gain some weight (laugh). I need to get stronger. I need to put on 15 good pounds. I want to be at 180 when I report to Ole Miss. I guess you could say that another goal of mine is to keep my arm healthy, but that is a given."
Do to Corrigan's live arm, has the Ole Miss staff spoken to Chris about maybe becoming a closer?
"Well, I have talked to them about being their closer, but they like my stuff too much. I throw 4 pitches, and closers usually only have 2 to 3. My stuff is probably more suited to be a starting pitcher, but I will do what ever is asked of me. I just want to win."
