Basketball analysis

The Rebels were able to land a top 100 player in Terrance Henry who was highly coveted by programs like Kentucky and Kansas.

They were also able to solidify their two guard position with silky smooth Terrico White while bringing in another quality point guard in Will Bogan. In the meantime, they were able to find a big time athlete that knows how to finish in the paint in Brandon Wilson. Click here to watch film on Will Bogan and to see Terrico White.

They covered the 1, 2, 3, and 4 positions with SEC quality players and beat out Arkansas' top two priorities for the early signing period in Henry and White. Did you think you would ever hear that?

Baseball analysis

Last year's class made a reappearance in Baseball America's Top 25 recruiting rankings, as they came in at #14 after a one year absense. We still have the Spring signing period to go, but man to man, this is one of the best classes in the country, and ahead of last year's class.

You have Baseball American National 100 high school prospects in LHP Kyle Barbeck, C Taylor Hightower, 1B Matt Snyder, and Top 250 players in 3B Mike Snyder and RHP Brett Snyder. All of these players come at need positions which is just an added bonus.

In the juco ranks, they were able to gain possibly the most coveted juco pitcher on the market in RHP Aaron Barrett while holding down the fort locally with commits from RHP Kyle Thorton and RHP Blair Wright.

If you see pitching as a common denominator with many of these commits, this was not by mistake, as Ole Miss will most likely lose Cody Satterwhite, Lance Lynn, Scott Bittle, and quite possibly Brett Bukvich at the end of the season.

Many holes will have to be filled, but by all indications, the fall signing class is going to allow them to reload instead of rebuild.

Unlike signing day in football, basketball and baseball signees are not all released in the same day that they sign. Sometimes it might take a week or so before the school releases their signature.

And unlike football and baseketball, baseball commits do not bolt and end up signing with another schools on signing day. Rest easy and do not get anxious if you do not see an official release on their signature in the next few days. The release is coming. It is only a matter of when, not if.
