Recruiting: Q&A with OL Thomas Eckers

Earlier this week, Ole Miss received a commitment from Thomas Eckers, an offensive lineman from West Point, Mississippi. Eckers, a 6-foot-2, 280-pounder, is not well known to recruiting buffs but he has had a dominating senior season to vault himself into an SEC-level prospect. Eckers is described as being a physical player with real good feet who comes off the ball well. He is also known for his strong drive blocking. The Ole Miss Insider caught up with Eckers for a Q&A interview:

OMI- How is your team's season going?

TE- We are 6-1 so far.

OMI- Who did you play this past weekend?

TE- Houston.

OMI- What was the score?

TE- We won 35-7.

OMI- Who do you guys play this weekend?

TE- Louisville.

OMI- Is the game at home or away?

TE- It's at Louisville.

OMI- Does your coaching staff keep any statistics or grades on their offensive linemen?

TE- Yes. I have around 35-40 pancake blocks and have graded between 82-85 percent on my assignments.

OMI- Why did you choose Ole Miss?

TE- They have been sending me a lot of letters and they treated me like I was already part of the team. Also, my parents and I decided that school is first and I needed to choose a school that had my major. I plan to major in business and Ole Miss has my major.

OM- Thank you for your time.

TE- You're welcome.
