Recruiting: QB Jeremy Young

Ole Miss started the recruiting year in the back of the pack for the services of quarterback Jeremy Young. However, a tireless recruiting effort and a winning record for the season have moved the Rebels into contention for Young's signature. Young, a 6-foot-4, 190-pounder from Provine High School in Jackson, Mississippi, provides yet another strong indicator in favor of the Rebels' in his latest interview. Is this factor the one that will predict Young's future residence?

"I would love to go to school where I know some players," said Young. "At Ole Miss, I know Charlie Anderson. His brother, Robert Hough, is on my high school team and he may end up at Ole Miss, too."

Young attended the Ole Miss/Florida game and came away very impressed. The electricity in the stadium during a big game is not lost on prospects and Young is no exception.

"They really had a lot of crowd support," said Young. "I really like the defense because they stepped up to the challenge."

While at the game, Young had the opportunity to meet some of the players and coaches. Not surprisingly, it was yet another positive experience for the talented signal-caller.

"I met some of the players and coaches and I had a good time talking to them," said Young.

Nobody can predict with complete accuracy where prospects will ultimately end up signing. But all of the signs used by those whose jobs depend on predicting the outcome of these decisions are starting to point toward Oxford for Young.
