Everything was going just as planned for the 6' 2", now 220 pound receiver. He went through Spring practice, and earned a starting job, but then right before the season started in two a days; Levy severely sprained his MCL which put him out a few games.
There was a decision to make, miss half the season and burn a year of eligibility or take a redshirt and have four to play four on the D1 level. Terry opted to save his year of eligibility and took a redshirt.
Why was it not considered a medical redshirt?
"They did not give me a medical redshirt because they said the injury happened off of the football field, but my sprained MCL is almost all the way back. I am about 90% back right now."
Is Levy currently practicing with the team?
"I am practicing with the team (Butler CC), I just do not play in the games."
Levy has been committed to the Rebels for over two years now, but the coach he committed to is no longer at Ole Miss. Where does Terry now stand?
"When I heard
that Coach Orgeron was let go, I was going to go back to Butler CC next year and
play during my redshirt freshman season and just see what happens in Oxford. But
then I started hearing rumors that they were going to keep the scholarships for
the players that were committed and that Coach Nutt was going to run the spread
offense, I decided to stick with Ole Miss."
Levy is familiar with Coach Nutt through a friend of his.
"I know Brandon Burrett from Butler CC. He plays for Coach Nutt at Arkansas. He told me that I was going to love Coach Nutt, that he is a player's coach. I like the way he grabbed McFadden after the LSU game and told the world that he deserved to be the Heisman winner. I turned to my friend and told him I wish I could play for a coach like that and now it is going to happen. It is like a dream come true. I can't wait to get over there to Oxford. It is going to be real exciting."
When will Terry complete his junior college degree?
""I am still getting out in May but I have to take one or two classes this summer to finish up my degree. I will probably take those in Mississippi and report to Ole Miss in August."
