Coach Dameron visits Daniel Thomas

Daniel Thomas (Ath, N' West CC, MS) - The Dillard (FL) native had a frustrating ending to his junior college career as a high ankle sprain kept him out of the playoffs, but it looks like those frustrations are turning to joy with the increased interest Thomas has received from some of the country's elite college programs.

"Last Thursday Coach Prince (head coach for Kansas State) came by and offered me. I am going up there to visit on January 18th. I went to MTSU last weekend on an official visit too."

Oklahoma and Louisville also offered Daniel recently.

"I have not heard from Louisville since they offered me a couple of weeks back. Oklahoma called me last week and wanted to know if I have made my decision. They really want me to change my commitment (from Ole Miss to Oklahoma)."

Where does Thomas' commitment to Ole Miss stand?

"I am still committed to Ole Miss. One of their coaches came in today. His name was Coach Dameron. He came over from Louisianna. It was his first day on the job for Ole Miss. He just let me know that they are going to start contacting me and watching my film. He really stressed that I need to work hard in the classroom or all of this is for nothing. I am suppose to visit them on January 25th."

Did Ole Miss inform Daniel that his offer was still solid?

"They said it was still there. I do not have anything to worry about on that end."

Has FSU been in contact lately?

"No, I have not heard from them in a couple of weeks."

Three N' West CC sophomores were selected to the All-Region XXIII and first team MACJC All-State. They are tailback Daniel Thomas, linebacker Patrick Trahan, and center Brandon Green.

Thomas, of Hilliard, Fla., was one of the Rangers' most consistent players on offense this season. Despite missing two games, Thomas led the team in rushing with 562 yards and six touchdowns on 103 carries. Thomas also played quarterback and completed 24 of 51 passes for 450 yards and two scores.
