Florida DB set to visit Ole Miss in January

Leonard Johnson (CB, Largo, FL) - Largo knew they had something special when their starting freshman cornerback set the school record with 7 interceptions.

Johnson took it to the next level his sophomore season when he had a team high 9 int's, but last season, they put their best "athlete" in at QB and that is where Johnson has spent the majority of his time since the move.

This season, Leonard led his team to the State Semifinals and finished the season with a 13-1 record. He amassed 950 rushing yards, 980 passing yards, and 21 total TD's.

But football is no stranger to this Johnson as his father, Leonard Johnson Sr, played for four different processional teams during the early 80's.

Where could Jr be headed?

Right now, I have been to ISU (9/27) and Troy (10/15), and I set up a visit with Ole Miss on January 18th."

What are Johnson's thoughts on the newly hired Ole Miss staff?

"I actually like them. Me and Coach (Chris) Vaughn, their DB coach, have started developing a good relationship. He was a wrestler in high school, and so am I. We talk about things outside of football, like on a personal basis."

Anymore visits in the makings?

"I might go to Memphis. I do not know yet. FSU, I am not sure if they offered me or not, but I am going to call them tomorrow and find out what the deal is."

What stood out during Leonard's visits to Iowa State and Troy?

"I like Iowa State a lot. They are my favorite team. They lead for sure. I like Troy a lot too. I like their coach who is recruiting me. I like Troy a lot, but ISU is my favorite."
