Marr solid with Rebels

Demareo Marr came into the weekend committed to Ole Miss, and left Oxford Sunday with that decision even more solidified.

"The visit went great, and I feel extremely comfortable at Ole Miss," said Marr, who was hosted by Terrell Jackson. "Terrell showed me around. We had a great time."

The cornerback from Northwest Community College spoke with Nutt this morning and talked about Marr's height being a needed asset for the Rebels next season. He is 6-2 and runs the 40 in 4.5 seconds.

"Coach and I just sat down and talked about how my height can help, and I can play man against big receivers," Marr said. "Coach told me I was the only JUCO corner he was recruiting, and that I can step in right away. Everything was great."

Marr was entertaining the idea of taking a couple more visits, but he now believes his recruitment is finished.

"I talked to coaches about possibly visiting Southern Miss or Memphis, but now, I think I am going to wrap it up and concentrate on playing for Ole Miss."

Marr was familiar with Ole Miss, but with the students back in town, he was shocked with how they welcomed him and his brother, who accompanied him on the trip.

"I didn't realize how passionate everyone was about their football," Marr closed. "It was people I never met, but they all knew who I was and went out of their way to welcome me and speak to me. I appreciated that."

Marr plans to graduate in May and enroll at Ole Miss for summer school.
