Hargrave CB enrolls at Ole Miss

The Rebels added their second Hargrave player this afternoon when their starting left cornerback, Julian Whitehead, enrolled at Ole Miss.

"I committed to Ole Miss," added Julian Whitehead. "I am actually down here right now. I am starting school tomorrow. MTSU wanted me real badly, but I decided to go with Ole Miss. The opportunity was just too good."

When did this all come about?

"Actually, this week. My boy Jared Mitchell is already down there, so I joined him. I start tomorrow. We are waiting on the clearinghouse to clear me, and I will be ready to roll. But I already enrolled today and moved all in. They overnight my transcript to the clearinghouse so I am just waiting on it."

Two additional Hargrave players also took in an official visit to Ole Miss this past weekend.

"I am pretty sure Andrew Harris is coming. I am about 95% sure of that, but he is taking a couple more visits. And Enrique Davis, he just laughs about everything so nobody can get a read on him. I have no idea where he is going. Everybody in the country is trying to get him. He is worth it though. "Q" is the best player I have ever seen."

Julian reaped the benefits from a season at Hargrave.

"My game is like night and day better now. It went real good. I had 4 int's, 1 forced fumble, and 8 pass break ups. I started at left cornerback the last four games. I got so much better because of the competition I was playing against. I was going up against pro like receivers every day in practice. I progressed a lot this year."

What most did the former Parkview (GA) standout progress in?

"Probably the speed. That is what helped me for this level. Those guys were All-Americans out of high school. They had college speed. I got a lot faster and learned how to play at a faster pace. I am much better now."

Julian tore his ACL at a summer football camp before the start of his senior season and had to miss the year which led him to Hargrave.

"I was getting recruited pretty good until I tore my ACL. Then everybody just quit calling. I knew a year at Hargrave would get my name back out there, and here I am, about to play in the SEC. It does not get any better than this. And you ought to see the campus and area at Ole Miss. It is nothing like I have ever seen. It looks like something out of a movie. This is a dream come true.
