Washed Out in Progress

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Saturday baseball game between Ole Miss and Alabama has been suspended until noon Sunday due to inclement weather. The Rebels lead the Tide 3-2 in the top of the third.

At noon, all nine innings of the current game in progress will be completed and a seven-inning contest to complete the series will be played. There will be a 30-minute break between games.

The Southeastern Conference has a rule that no new game can start after 4 p.m. Sunday, but the league has issued a waiver that will allow both games to be finished tomorrow regardless of the second game start time.

The two teams endured two rain delays of one hour and 29 minutes and 14 minutes before the third stoppage ended baseball for the day.

When time was called, The Rebels had runners at first and second with two outs, leading 3-2. All three Ole Miss runs came in the present inning. Sean Stuyverson will be the batter when play resumes.
