Last Time Out
Ole Miss has won six of its last seven conference games since breaking a five-game overall losing streak at Alabama three weeks ago. The Rebels took two-of-three from LSU last weekend in Oxford but fell to Mississippi State in a non-conference game Tuesday at Pearl. South Carolina went 5-0 last week with a pair of non-conference wins vs. Western Carolina (9-6) and Clemson (7-1) as well as a weekend sweep at Auburn. This is the first SEC home series for USC in three weeks. South Carolina was swept by Georgia in the first half of the mini road swing.
South Carolina leads the overall series 23-15 and took two-of-three the last time the teams met in Columbia. The Gamecocks captured the first two, while Ole Miss avoided the sweep on Sunday. In 2007, the Rebels clinched the series with a Saturday win in Oxford, and USC fought back to salvage the Sunday match-up. Since 1999, the home team has taken two-out-of-three in this series. The teams didn't play in 2000 or 2001.
