Key Ole Miss hoops signee qualifies's Top 100 national player and Ole Miss spring signee, Murphy Holloway, received some big news yesterday.

When will South Carolina's Mr. Basketball report to Ole Miss?

"June 26th is when I report. I am just going to finish up my school work, play some ball, and work hard in the gym."

Will the 2007/2008 South Carolina Player of the Year play in any AAU leagues before he reports?

"No, I am just going to stay in the gym. I need to get SEC big."

And how big is that?

"I am 6' 7", 223 right now. When the first game tips off next year, I want to get my body up to 240, all muscle though. I do not want to gain bad weight. The SEC power forwards are strong and long. I have the length, but I need to work on my strength. By my sophomore year, I want to get it up to 250."

Murphy averaged 28 points, 15 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 steals a game this year for Dutch Fork High and came within one basket of becoming the Lower State Champs as they lost to Goose Creek on the last shot of the game.

He had 32 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 blocks that game in the championship game, which was his 6th triple double of the year.

Holloway was named the MVP of the State tournament, to go along with being named Mr. Basketball for the state of South Carolina (for all calcifications), along with being named the Gatorade Player of the Year for the State of South Carolina, 4A Player of the Year, and All-Area Player of the Year.
