Recruiting update with S Corey Addison
"I went to Florida's camp in June, and I am going to FSU's camp on July 19th," added Corey Addison. "Florida still has not offered me. The situation they have going on is that they have another safety they offered, and they are waiting to see if one of the safeties they signed last year qualifies. He might be ineligible, but they are trying to get him eligible. We will just have to see. And FSU, they have not offered me either. Everybody else but them have offered. I have not really been talking to FSU, but my coach is staying in contact with them."
The Andrew Jackson safety currently has offers from West Virginia, Auburn, Clemson, South Carolina, Miami, UCF, Illinois, Michigan, Purdue, Georgia Tech, Louisville, UConn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Virginia, and Boston College.
Which schools are staying in contact with the 5' 11", 180 pound Jacksonville resident?
"South Carolina, Central Florida, and Florida. Those are the main ones, and I am going down to Miami to check things out soon. Those are the main ones right now."
What stands out about South Carolina?
"When I went up there, I just liked everything. I got to see the education side, and it seemed like they have a sound football program."
Central Florida brings the proximity factor to the table.
"It is just right down the road and their program is on the upswing as well."
Florida has always been a favorite of Addison's.
"I always liked Florida since I was a kid. Everyone grows up watching somebody and Florida was the one for me. I am staying with them and hopefully something good will happen in the end."
Miami's staff has made inroads with one of Corey's coaches.
"My coach knows their coach, and he tells me their program will come back this or next year. I want to be a part of something big. I would love to go to a program that is on the verge of breaking loose, like Miami."
Clemson was mentioned as a possible visit earlier. What happened to the Tigers?
"They offered me, and I was looking at them, but I do not think they have the program I want to go to."
Where does Ole Miss stand?
"They offered me in the Spring, but I have not really been talking to them."
Auburn was earlier mentioned as a candidate. Are they still in the race?
"I still have them on my list, but those are just the four schools (Miami, Florida, Central Florida, and South Carolina) I am looking at right now. I am still evaluating everyone. I am taking my time right now."
Where all will Addison visit and where else will he visit this summer?
"Unofficially, I have already been to South Carolina, Florida, and FSU, and I plan on going to Central Florida the weekend after next. I have also been to Florida's camp, and I am going to FSU's in a couple of weeks."
Addison reports a 3.0 GPA / 21 ACT.
