Rebels invite Kentucky recruit to scrimmage

Tupelo will be a destination that many college recruiters will take this fall as they have a handful of players who are D1 material.

One of them is a receiver that goes by the name of Justin Bean. The Golden Wave product checked into the Ole Miss camp at 6' 1", 183 pounds and ran an impressive 4.55 forty.

"It was a pretty good experience for me," added Justin. I learned some new moves to get me off the press coverage. This was my first trip to Ole Miss this summer, but I have been over there a bunch in the past to watch some games."

Bean committed to Kentucky last month but the Rebels look to be showing more interest as of late.

"I think they are pretty interested in me. They want me to come to the scrimmage on Saturday. I saw where they are projected to finish 4th or 5th in the SEC in passing, so that interest me. I got a chance to talk with Coaches Dickerson, Markuson, and Nutt at their camp. Coach Nutt said he really liked me and wanted to see me around more. Then Coach Dickerson sent me a hand written letter asking me to come to their scrimmage. He left his number in the letter so I called him last night. We talked about me and Chad Bumphis coming over there Saturday. If we have time after our photo shoot for our football team, we are going over there. But we do not know how long the photo shoot is going to take so we still do not know if we are going to be able to make it or not."

Are there anymore colleges involved in Bean's recruitment?

"Kentucky and Ole Miss are pretty much it. I got an offer from Kentucky, and now I am going to see what is going to happen with Ole Miss' (offer)."

Does Justin still feel solid with his commitment to Kentucky?

"Oh yea, I still feel good about Kentucky. They have a good offense, and they pass the ball a lot."

Justin had 18 catches for 408 yards and 5 TD's as a junior. He joins WR Chad Bumphis as maybe the state's top one/two punch at the wide receiver positions.
