Texas OL Commits to Rebels

After a summer of visits, Texas OL Micheal Brown ended his recruitment Wednesday night. Go inside to find out more.

Scout.com has learned that Michael Brown has committed to the University of Mississippi. Brown made his final decision between Ole Miss and Baylor despite having offers from Illinois, Arizona, Houston, Kansas and Stanford.

"I committed to Ole Miss tonight," added Michael Brown. "I just felt like I fit in best with their program."

Scout.com's #75 OT is a crucial piece to the Rebels recruiting puzzle for the 2009 class. Ole Miss is in need of athletic OL and Brown fits that mold well. At Scout.com's Dallas combine, Brown ran a 5.60 forty time while turning in a 23.5 inch vertical. He measured in at 6'5.5 and 288lbs.

Brown is no stranger when it comes to receiving awards. Following a solid Junior season, which yielded 72 pancake blocks, Brown was named Texas 2A All State. He was also named 26-21 Newcomer of the year. Recently Brown was named to the Preseason All Centex and was honored at the Texas Gridiron Kickoff in Austin. He was also named the #11 player on the Top 25 Central Texas Players list for the upcoming season.

Brown is the 11th commitment for Ole Miss for the 2009 class and the second from the state of Texas.
