Emmanuel Lartey talks about Ole Miss trip
"We left after our game Friday night and stayed in a hotel and drove up the next morning," added Emmanuel Lartey. "Alfred Moreland's parents took me, Milton Patterson, and Alfred Moreland."
What was Emmanuel looking for before he came on the trip?
"I wanted to see what the environment was like and how the coaches acted towards their players on game day."
What did he learn about the environment?
"There were a lot of fans there. They are real into their team, and I really liked their DB coach, Chris Vaughn. He told me that Ole Miss is the place for me to be, and they really needed some help at cornerback because they need some guys who can go up and get the ball. Coach (Vaughn) told me that he watched my film, and he liked how I can go up and get it. He said I play real physical."
How did the coaches treat their players?
"They are very competitive and want to win."
What were Lartey's observations from the team?
"After the game, Coach Rocker introduced us to their players that are from Atlanta and they were all cool. They told us to come join them. During the game, their DB's made a lot of plays and interceptions that kept their defense off of the field. Coach said they had some seniors leaving and it is a good time for me to come in and play as a freshman."
Was the overall trip about what he was expecting..better..or worse?
"It was OK. It was my first trip anywhere so I do not know how it compares to the other schools. I am going to take some more trips first before I make up my mind."
Lartey had already set up an official visit to Louisville (11/22) before he visited Ole Miss and has added another one since he arrived back home.
"I am going to West Virginia on December 6th. I will probably take some more visits, but I have not set up anymore visits yet. I am talking to Coach Rocker at Ole Miss about getting one set up, and I am sure I will take a couple more."
