Rebels add 5th offensive tackle

It is no secret that the Rebels are looking to bring in a couple of December juco offensive tackles to help fill in the gap from Michael Oher's graduation, and it looks like they got a good start yesterday when N' East Oklahoma A&M's Logan Clair (6' 5", 320) gave Ole Miss some good news.

Logan Clair Profile

"I loved it on my visit," added the 6' 5", 320 pound offensive tackle out of N' East Okl A&M. "I liked it so much that I committed. I just loved the town, the square, and the campus is awesome. Their facilities are amazing. Everything looked good to me."

Logan had someone very knowledgeable about his position hosting him for the weekend.

"Michael Oher was my host. I asked him a bunch of questions. I wanted to know how their coaches were on and off the field and how they run their practices. He told me that he got so much better as a player this year under Coach Nutt, and that it is like one big family. He just basically told me that I will get better and better because Coaches Nutt and Markuson are amazing coaches. That was good enough for me."

Logan was impressed with not only the dominating showing by the Rebels Friday, but how they kept their composure even when the game was well at hand.

"I was watching to see if their players would start taking plays off after they got up so big, and everyone kept playing as hard on the last snap of the game as they did on the first. That really stood out to me."

The SEC level is going to be another jump for the former Mustang (Okl) resident, but he feels like he has the game to make the transition.

"I noticed it is a whole another level of talent and speed. I went to a good junior college, but I pretty much dominated everyone in front of me while I was here. I know now I am not going to be the biggest, strongest, and fastest lineman out on the field. They are much more physical. That is probably the biggest difference I see, but I know I can handle it. I just need the spring to get adjusted. That is going to give me an advantage, getting to get to go through spring training, before the season starts next season. By then, I am pretty confident I will be making an impact on their offensive line."

Logan was going to visit Oklahoma State this weekend but those plans have changed.

"I called them and let them know that I am signing with Ole Miss in December. I am finished with my visits."
