Butler CC Wide Receiver Tyrece Gaines, one of the best in the business, had a "real good" visit to Ole Miss over the weekend.
"I'm looking for a family, and Ole Miss has that family atmosphere I want," said Gaines, an extremely polite and articulate young man. "Yes sir, I can see that I could fit in there. I had a real good visit, real good."
Gaines, a 6-2 205-pounder with reported 4.4 40 speed, enjoyed meeting with Rebel WR Coach Ron Dickerson.
"He's my kind of guy. Coach Dickerson is not only interested in seeing you do well on the field, he's interested in the off the field aspect as well," Tyrece continued. "He showed me how to get better in both areas, as a wide receiver and as a student-athlete."
Tyrece, who was hosted by current Reb WR Markeith Summers, has already visited Oklahoma and is a prize recruit for the Sooners. He will visit Oregon next weekend.
"It's pretty much down to three and Ole Miss is right in the mix. I was very impressed," he stated.
Gaines said he was looking for a quarterback who could throw the football and would be with him both of his two years in Division I football.
"Jevan (Snead) is impressive. He definitely throws it where receivers can make plays on the ball and that's what I want," Gaines stated. "He has a live, accurate arm and he'll be a junior the same time I am."
Gaines will not decide on a school until after next weekend. He's in no major hurry, he says.
"I'm going to take my visit to Oregon and then digest everything before I choose," he closed.
