Every spring semester, the football team will pick up a few players wanting to enroll and take their shots at being Rebels in spring training. br>
The early word on who may be joining the Rebel football team during the second semester of school has not been finalized, but here's a peek at who the most likely candidates are.
OT Logan Clair - The 6-5, 320-pound offensive lineman from Northeast Oklahoma Community College signed in December and is on campus now. He will go through spring training and have two years to play after that.
DL Bo Tillman - The 6-6, 285-pound brother of current Rebel Marcus Tillman is on campus and is awaiting word from the NCAA Clearinghouse on is eligibility status. The feeling around the football program is that he will be cleared. Keep your fingers crossed, this young man has the look. He will have 5 1/2 years to play four.
RB Andre Sterling - The 5-11, 185-pounder with 4.5 speed from Knoxville Farragut HS went to Hargrave Military School last football season. He signed with the Rebels in the 2008 class. Sterling backed up feature RB Ontario McCaleb at Hargrave.
QB Clayton Moore - The 6-2, 200-pounder from Louisville, MS, has opted to walk-on at Ole Miss after an injury-plagued and "controversial" senior season.
LB Bruce Williams - The 6-4, 190-pound East Central CC product from Ridgeland, MS, played for former Rebel football staff member Steve Cheatham last season.
OL Taylor Quick - The 6-5, 305-pounder finishes at Hinds Community College in the fall and will walk-on at Ole Miss this semester.
CB Nick Lanciault - The 5-11, 192-pounder from Fredericksburg, VA, played at Hargrave last season for Coach Robert Prunty. It was believed earlier in the recruiting process he would ink with Boston College, but he has apparently opted for Ole Miss instead.
WR Artis Ford, Jr. - The 6-3, 180-pounder from Pahokee, FL, is the son of former Rebel DL Artis Ford, who lettered three years at Ole Miss from 1990-1992.
This list is pending acceptance of these players by the University of Mississippi and may or may not be complete yet.
We'll keep you posted on any developments the best we can.
