First, the 5-11, 175-pounder with 4.3 speed confirmed his commitment to Ole Miss over his official visit weekend.
Second, after Ole Miss doctors and trainers checked out his broken foot that he got during his senior season at Atlantic HS in Delray Beach, FL, they declared it should be fine and there shold be no lingering problems.
When asked what he liked about Ole Miss, it didn't take long for him to answer.
"Everything," said Mireles. "Really, everything."
After some coaxing, the softspoken Mireles expanded his answer.
"Ole Miss feels like home to me," he continued. "I liked the coaches, the players, the facilities, the campus, the town - it as all what I had hoped and imagined. Coach (Chris) Vaughn recruited me and he's a great guy."
As for his foot - he was on crutches during his visit - Quadarias expects to be back on it in short order.
"I will start rehab in January and be back at full speed by spring," he said. "I don't anticipate any issues, but I was glad to get the good report I did from the Ole Miss medical people."
If you watch the film on his player page on this site, it's obvious what makes Mireles a wanted commodity - speed.
"I have been blessed with good speed and the ability to make people miss," he stated. "My change of direction is good. I cut well and I've been told I don't slow down when I cut. I also think I have good acceleration and am going full speed pretty quickly."
But Quadarias knows he'll have work to do to reach his potential on the next level.
"The Ole Miss coaches have talked to me about playing different positions - wide receiver, tailback, wherever my speed will benefit the team," he closed. "To do that, I know I will have to work hard on my strength and try to get bigger.
"I'll have to be sharp mentally too so I can catch on quickly and try to help as soon as I can."
Mireles said he's a full qualifier with a 2.8 GPA and a "good" test score.
"I'm dead set on Ole Miss," he closed. "I'm excited about it."
