Kennedy: 'It's a staggering statistic'

Andy Kennedy certainly knows how to do his research.

Last week, Ole Miss fell apart in losses to Vanderbilt and Florida to open a crucial three-game homestand. Both games held a wealth of NCAA Tournament implications. The Rebels needed impressive league wins to build their resume.

Instead, and with an eight-season NCAA Tournament drought hanging overhead, Ole Miss came up short. Again.

Ole Miss (17-9, 5-7 SEC) is 1-5 since opening the league slate 4-2. In those seven losses, the Rebels have lost by a grand total of 39 points. But even more, in those same losses, Ole Miss has been outscored at the free throw line by 78 points.

Kennedy addressed his team's fouling issues at length Monday, and even shed some light on what has caused such a drastic discrepancy at the charity stripe.
