Kennedy: 'He's back with us'

Andy Kennedy strolled into the BPF rather casually Tuesday. He usually does.

The fourth-year head coach is a smooth customer, who doesn't mind sharing his mind. Ask a question and you'll likely get a detailed answer. He's brutally honest, too. Depending on the status of his team, he's extremely quotable, especially around this time of year.

Ole Miss returns to action Friday in the Southeastern Conference Tournament. The Rebels will ride into Nashville, Tenn. on a four-game win streak. They're 21-9 overall and 9-7 in league play, a needed reversal from previous misfortunes of 2009-10.

But one issue still remains. Eniel Polynice, a junior guard, was suspended before a 68-66 comeback win at Arkansas. Some details have surfaced, but to Kennedy, "it's a family issue." As days passed, he remained mum on the topic.

Tuesday, he returned to form.

As he spoke to the media, Kennedy announced that Polynice had rejoined the team. Well, partially, anyway.

Polynice's playing status against the LSU/Tennessee winner has yet to be determined, though he'll travel with the team. If Kennedy's personal checklist is met, a final decision will be announced.
