VIDEO: Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt was fully aware of the challenges his new-look Rebels faced as they took the field together for the first time Saturday.
However, Nutt, who ushered in his third spring practice as head coach, bounced around the practice fields with excitement. The days and weeks ahead are all about teaching - a task he's readily prepared for.
This season is filled with unknowns. The question marks far outweigh the certainties, at least currently.
Ole Miss used every bit of two hours and 24-plus periods for practice. Players spent much of the afternoon in individual work, before scrimmage drills ended the day. The No. 1 offense and defense even squared off to cap a fairly energetic opening day.
More or less, Saturday was what Nutt was looking for. He saw an eager bunch, ready to meet its challenges head on.
