"I've been talking to pretty much all of (the schools who have offered), but Ole Miss is working me the hardest," he said. "They're probably leading the way right now."
Madden is currently spending his summer as a member of the Arkansas Wings, a AAU basketball affiliate, which also includes four-star forward and Arkansas commit, Hunter Mickelson.
Madden is rated the nation's No. 10 shooting guard according to Scout.com, though his intent is to play point guard at the next level.
"I feel like I've been playing alright, but I haven't been playing my best ball," Madden said. "I've really been working on my point guard skills – my ball-handling, and all that. I feel like I'm getting better every day."
Madden has kept Ole Miss high on his list since visiting Oxford "two or three times" during the season, including the Rebels' conference-opening loss to in-state rival Mississippi State in January.
"When I went down there to watch a game, everybody there was cool and just talking to me," he said. "I had a good time. I feel comfortable around all of it, not just the coaching staff, but the community and the players."
He was also impressed with the newly-opened basketball practice facility.
"The first time I went down there was the first day they'd opened it up, and they still hadn't put everything in there yet," he said. "Then I went back and everything was all put in there. I got to check it out. It was real nice."
Similar to other schools involved in his recruitment, Ole Miss offers the opportunity to play early, especially considering the departures of seniors Chris Warren and Zach Graham following the 2010-11 season.
Guard Terrico White, a former SEC Freshman of the Year, opted to remain in the upcoming NBA Draft, meaning he will not return for his junior season.
"They feel like when I get there, I can play immediately," the East Poinsett County product said. "All of their guards are leaving. They say they want to put the ball in my hands.
"All of the schools I've talked to say there are opportunities to come in and play. It's not something that's going to be given to me or nothing, but the position is open if I want it. I just need to go in there and get it."
